Hastings:

This one bedroom flat is located in Hastings Town Centre at the base of Hastings Castle. While the building is not on the English Channel, it is just behind the building that fronts the sea. Curiously, the business building in front is faced with windows and one can actually see waves and seagulls through their windows to the sea. Let's hope they don't ever close the drapes. Across another road is the pedestrian area of Hastings Town Centre.

The flat is one of 16 flats in a purpose-built building constructed in the early 1900s. The windows are the original sash windows and cannot be changed to double glazing as they are "listed". While it is over 100 years old, it has been modernised including gas central heating and all the other "mod-cons" one would expect. However, the fireplaces are no longer able to be used although the one in the bedroom still boasts its original front. This flat is a no-smoking property.

The kitchen has an electric "cooker". The top is ceramic with 4 hobs and there are two ovens. The top oven is a grill and the bottom one is a convection oven. At the moment there is no clothes washer nor dryer. There are laundromats to be found in Hastings for that purpose.

This flat rents for £200 per week or £300 for 2 consecutive weeks.  You are expected to do your own laundry (sheets and towels) at the end of your stay so you would need to book an afternoon departure from Hastings. Parking in Hastings can be tricky. There are pay parking lots that you would need to use if you bring a vehicle and this would cost about £6 during the day and a further £1 for the night.  There is a coin pay parking lot just next to the building.
